Society Statute/Bylaws
The Arab Society for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (ASGEB) is a non-profit scientific society established in 2012, registration no. 4363, and following the provisions of Law 149/2019 regarding organizing the practice of civil work. The society
is registered in the Dokki Department of Social Solidarity, the Egyptian Ministry of Social Solidarity, and it is headquarter is located at the Department of Plant Biotechnology, Institute of Biotechnology Research (Former Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology Division), National Research Center, Dokki, Giza, Egypt. The society is committed in its statutes, activities, and financing to respect the provisions and principles of the Constitution, Egyptian laws, and international conventions ratified by Egypt. In accordance with Article IV of Chapter I of the society& Statute,
The areas of work include the following activities:
1. Holding conferences, seminars, and workshops
2. Holding training programs and courses
3. Holding scientific exhibitions and conferences
4. Developing and encouraging innovation and invention
5. Simplifying science and spreading the culture of genetic engineering
6. Conducting research and applied projects
7. Conducting surveys and opinion polls in the field of genetic engineering
8. Issuing scientific journals and publications
9. Organizing trips and scientific and cultural seminars for members, and organizing
trips to resorts, and facilitating Hajj and Umrah for members only
10. Recognition and providing incentives for those distinguished in scientific
research
